Trip Summary
Day 1: Arrival in Kualanamu Intl Airport, Medan and transfer to Bukit Lawang.

Arrive at Medan airport, Our team will meet you at the airport and continue driving directly to Bukit Lawang About 4 hours of driving. Bukit Lawang is a small village at the foot of Gunung Leuser Nature Park, one of the largest in Asia with 900,000 hectares. You will discover exceptional fauna and flora and of course the Orangutans.

Day 2 and 3 : THE ORANGUTAN OF BUKIT LAWANG

We leave for two days and one night in the forest to encounter the Orangutans and also the other wildlife in GunungLeuser Park. Your local jungle guide will introduce you to the jungle and the animals that we might see in the jungle.

Overnight with the hut in the jungle and return to our eco-lodge by rafting/tubing on the Bohorok River, Arrival at the ecolodge, check-in and take a rest, or walking tour around Bukit Lawang village traditional market and overnight at (your hotel of choice).
DAY 4: TRANSFER TO TANGKAHAN ECOTOURISM – ELEPHANT CONSERVATION

After breakfast, depart to Tangkahan ecotourism site crossing “gravel road with 4wd” road condition almost 12km ahead to elephant conservation CRU.

Arrival in Tangkahan check in at our ecolodge and proceed to have lunch. In the afternoon, an hour's walk to see elephants and elephant baths. DAY 5 : TRANSFER TO BERASTAGI – SIBAYAK VOLCANO

After breakfast transfer to Berastagi, a small town at 1300 meters altitude in Karo country. Around 5 hours of driving.

Berastagi is where the fruits and vegetables we find throughout the region grow. Berastagi is known for its strawberries and passion fruits, as well as for its two active volcanoes that surround it, Sibayak and Sinabung.

Visit the traditional market and the Lumbini Buddhist pagoda. Overnight at Kalang Ulu Hotel.
DAY 6 : CLIMB SIBAYAK VOLCANO- DOKAN VILLAGE AND TOBA LAKE

Climb the Sibayak volcano. Departure at 4:30 am with an experienced guide and arrive at the top for the sunrise.

Return to the hotel after that, we take the road to Lake Toba. About 5 hours of driving. We will stop at the village of Dokan with its old Batak Karo houses.

Once we arrive in Parapat, we take a boat and reach Samosir and the village of Tuk Tuk, a small village on the edge of the lake. Lake Toba is the largest volcanic lake in the world 100 km long and 35 wide.

Relaxation and overnight stay in a hotel (Tabo cottage)
DAY 7 - 8 : SAMOSIR, TOBA LAKE
On this day we will enjoy the fascinating Toba Lake and the unique ancient Batak Culture, during our stay there is lot plenty activities we will do such as:

Visiting the Museum of Batak and the traditional Batak house and meeting local people

DAY 9 : SAMOSIR, TOBA LAKE

In the morning return to Medan City, arrive in Medan City Check in to our hotel and Medan city tour and evening
DAY 10: LEAVING MEDAN CITY – HOME / YOUR NEXT DESTINATION

Because the Sumatra area is covered with rainforest and located right on the equator, it has a tropical climate, the weather is hot and humid all year round. The driest season normally starts from May to September, although there are sporadic rains and may occur during this period. Rains are abundant between November and January. The average temperature is 30 °C degree so be ready for hot, humid, and hasty conditions.
