  • Trip Summary

Day 1  Padang – Bukittinggi

At 8:00 a.m., we will begin our journey from Padang City to Bukittinggi City. On our way to Bukittinggi, we will pass through the dense jungle of Malalak, which is renowned for its local production of cinnamon. Upon our arrival in Bukittinggi, we will visit the famous Sianok Canyon, and then spend the night in Bukittinggi.

Day 2 Bukittinggi – Maninjau Lake and traditional village

After breakfast, we will visit Maninjau Lake and a traditional Minangkabau village. There, we will engage in activities with the local people in Maninjau. On our way to the lake, we'll stop at a local sugar cane factory. Enjoy the beautiful jungle scenery surrounding the village, including the terraced rice fields. We will continue our visit to a traditional village and a fishermen's village in Maninjau.  After our time in Maninjau, we will return to Bukittinggi for the night.

Day 3 Bukittinggi – Harau valley

At 8 a.m., we will visit the traditional market in Bukittinggi. After that, we'll head to a local permaculture and vanilla plantation. Following our visit, we will embark on our journey to Harau Valley. Upon arrival, we will check in at our accommodation or bungalow and visit the village rice fields and the local village. We will spend the night in Harau Valley.

Day 4 Harau valley trekking & 1000 caves

In the morning, we will visit a local village and explore the Harau Valley jungle, known for its famous 1,000 caves. Afterward, we will return to our accommodation. At the end of the day, we will visit a local palm sugar production facility. We will spend the night in Harau Valley.

Day 5 Harau Valley – Bungus bay – Beach stay, Pamutusan

We will transfer from Harau Valley to Bungus Bay, located south of Padang. On our way back to Padang City, we will visit the Minangkabau King's Palace. After this visit, we will continue to Bungus Bay. Upon our arrival, we will take a 45-minute speedboat transfer to our bungalow or beach house, which is set between the jungle and the seaside, offering breathtaking views. Once we arrive at our eco-lodge, we will check in and take the time to enjoy the surroundings. We will spend the night in a beautiful beach bungalow with a seafront view.

Day 6 Beach stay and –Island hopping

In the morning, we will visit several islands, including Marak Island, the Turtle Conservation, and Pagang Island, before returning to our Ecolodge..

Day 7 Beach stay – Swimming and Snorkeling

On this day you will enjoy a full day on the beach with some activities such as Swimming, Snorkeling, paddling

Day 8 Back to Padang or Airport

After breakfast, transfer to Bungus Bay and back to Padang City or the airport based on your schedule for next destination. Tour End.

Terms and Conditions
 

  • When visiting remote villages, you must accept basic living conditions. Comfort and cleanliness are not guaranteed to meet Western standards. However, tolerating this inconvenience is essential to enjoying your entire stay. Pack accordingly and maintain a positive mindset to fully embrace the unique challenges and opportunities that come with the experience.

  • Sumatra area is covered with rainforest and located right on the equator, it has a tropical climate, the weather is hot and humid all year round. The driest season normally starts from May to September, although there are sporadic rains that may occur during this period. Rains are abundant between November and January. The average temperature is 30 °C degree in Siberut island. Be ready for hot, humid, and hasty conditions.

  • To show respect for the culture of local communities, such as their traditional knowledge, laws, way of life, dress code, and different perspectives on the environment, it is recommended to adhere to certain guidelines. For instance, during a trip to Minangkabau, it is advisable to wear trousers that extend below the knee and T-shirts that cover the shoulders, for both men and women. It is also important to avoid wearing shorts, sleeveless shirts, revealing tops, or skirts above the knee. Loose-fitting clothes are recommended to help cope with the heat.

 Things to carry

  • Small backpack (we can leave some stuff at the previous place we stayed in (hotel/hostel)

  • Long trousers, long sleeves, t-shirt, fresh underwear (there will be sweating going on)

  • Rain clothes / poncho

  • We recommend bringing a dry bag/pocket (waterproof) to protect your camera and any other important documents and equipment you need to take care of.

  • Trekking shoes, a sleeping bag, mosquito repellent, high protection sunscreen, a headlamp, toilet paper, a sun hat/cap, sunglasses, a water bottle

  • First aid such as paracetamol, painkillers, anti-diarrhea, disinfectant, and all other medication you would usually take.

  • Do not overpack! Keep it simple
