1. Fun Waves

 

• Beng – Beng

A very consistent world-class wave, an extremely rippable left. This spot is loads of fun and probably one of the easiest waves to surf in the Mentawai. It’s the deepest and safest wave in the area. Nestled inside a small bay with one of the most photogenic views imaginable all around you.

Best Size         :          3 – 6 ft

• Pitstops

Pitstops is one of the consistent and high-performing waves in Mentawai Islands, it is fun and one of the most photogenic waves in the world, this is right off the peak at E-Bay. A playful right that can offer some serious fun, but mostly a high-performance wave with air sections at the end. Ends right at the beautiful beach.

• Burger-world

Burger-world is the wave that’s on when nowhere else is happening when the swell is under 1,5 M and mid to low tide , this wave will have size and offers numerous sections to work with, perfect for snap and cutback combos or a little punt. Friendly intermediate wave that’s rarely perfect and turns into a huge burger when the swell hits headhigh.

• 4 – Bobs

4 – Bobs is a short, playful right-hander located in the playground area, it’s known for being a consistent and fun wave, that breaks over shallow reefs and usually has two or three good sections.

• Nipussi

Nipussi is a well-covered reef encouraging you to work it before it goes dry at the sign-posted shut down. Nipussi is powerful but mellow in comparison to neighbor wave Bank vaults, It is high-performance right situated inside a reef-laden cove, with consistent swell. It’s one of the favorites when the rest of the islands are flat

Advance & Thrill Seeker

• E-Bay

Ebay is fast, barreling left that performs its best with head-high or bigger swells.  With its main tube section being located straight out from two large boulders it can be intimidating to the fainthearted. Handles all size swells but it’s fickle so dont expect to score it on a 2-week tour. Lesser surfers should stick with Pit Stops and Beng Bengs.

• Bankvaults

Bankvaults is a thick, challenging, hollow, barreling right, it’s the ideal size triple over-head, but also works as 3ft, this wave is capable of delivering the squarest barrel of your life but also can dish out grinding. South swells and winds are sketchier, but the tide doesn’t faze it. The left around the other side of the tip has been surfed but is dangerous without the right’s rewards. Intermediates should head straight to Nipussi.

• Hideaway

Hideaway is left–hand barrel it’s one of the more consistent waves out of thrill seeker waves. Located in the playground area has crystal clear water and a sharp reef making it best to surf on medium to high tide.

Best Size         :          4 – 8 ft
